New Neighbors Partnership
NNP welcomes refugee, asylee, and asylum-seeking families by building local partnerships and strengthening community support across NYC. Our core clothing partnership program matches newcomer families with local NYC families who pass along seasonal hand-me-down clothing. This creates ongoing relationships that provide stability and connection beyond the first few months of resettlement support.

Through direct assistance, volunteer engagement, and long-term family partnerships, we help ensure that new neighbors feel supported as they build their lives in a new country. Every dollar raised by Team New Neighbors helps sustain these relationships and expand support to more families across the city.
About the Opportunity
New Neighbors Partnership is an Official Charity Partner of the 2026 TCS New York City Marathon. We have been allocated three guaranteed Bronze level entries for the race taking place on Sunday, November 1, 2026. This year marks the 50th anniversary of the five borough course.

Due to limited availability, these entries are competitive. We select runners who demonstrate commitment to our fundraising requirement and alignment with our mission to support refugee and asylum-seeking families throughout New York City.

Runner Commitment
There are two ways to join Team New Neighbors:
Option A
Charity Bib Runner
Selected runners who receive a guaranteed charity entry must raise a minimum of $3,600 to benefit New Neighbors Partnership programs.
Option B
Own Bib Runner
Runners who already have their own NYRR entry are welcome to join the New Neighbors Team with a suggested fundraising goal to support our mission.
Runners are responsible for paying their own NYRR race registration fee directly to NYRR. This fee is separate from the fundraising requirement and is paid at the time of registration.

The NYRR registration deadline is September 8, 2026. Selected runners will receive a unique registration link that must be used by this date to secure the entry.

All donations made to New Neighbors Partnership are tax deductible. We encourage runners to explore employer matching gift programs, which can significantly help reach the fundraising minimum.

Register by Sept 8
Accepted runners complete NYRR registration by the deadline.
Interested runners must submit an online application through our website. The application includes questions about running experience, fundraising capacity, and connection to our mission.
Applications are reviewed by New Neighbors Partnership staff on a rolling basis. We evaluate each applicant based on their demonstrated commitment to meeting the fundraising requirement and their ability to represent our organization effectively.
Selected runners receive a unique registration link from NYRR, which must be used to complete registration by September 8, 2026. This link is specific to charity runners and cannot be transferred.
Due to limited availability of only three entries, we recommend submitting your application as early as possible.
